Notice on required app update in Stridekick

Our team is releasing a required app update on 5/8/23 (CDT). This article outlines what to expect.

Required Stridekick app update will be available starting May 8, 2023

Our team is releasing a required app update on the evening of May 8, 2023 (CDT). You should receive the update when you first open the Stridekick app after the update has been deployed.

The app update is expected to be available sometime after 9pm CDT and you will be presented with the following message on either iPhone or Android when it is available to you:

Please select "Continue" to receive the update. For Android users, you may see your screen go white for a few seconds while your app updates. After the update is installed on your device, you should be able to proceed with using the Stridekick app as usual.


What will the app update impact?

This app update includes several backend upgrades for the systems we use to operate the Stridekick platform. These upgrades will allow our team to better serve the Stridekick community in the future.

I didn't receive an "Update available" message. What should I do?

Our team will be releasing app version 2.4.27 to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for you to download. Please update to this version as soon as possible.

You may notice delays in your app updating in real-time until you receive the app update, but you can force your Stridekick app to update by scrolling down from the top of your screen as shown here:

This will force your dashboard to refresh. Here is an example of what you should see:

You can follow this process from the Dashboard, Friends tab, Challenges tab, and your Profile tab. For example, to update your challenge scores from within a challenge, you can pull down to sync as shown here:

From the Chat tab, you will not be able to see live updates indicating new messages received while the chat thread is open. To refresh your chat thread, please leave the chat thread and then re-open the chat thread to see the latest updates.
