🚫 Why Can’t My Phone Track Steps?

iPhone 4, 4s, 5, and 5c models don’t include a built-in accelerometer, which is the part of the phone that tracks your steps.

This means these phones can’t be used as your step tracking device in Stridekick.

Only the iPhone 5s or newer includes the technology needed to track steps directly.

✅ What Can I Do Instead?

You can still participate in Stridekick challenges! Here’s how:

  1. Download the Stridekick app
Make sure your phone is updated to iOS 9.3 or later

  2. Connect a supported fitness tracker
Use a device like Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Watch, Withings, and more!

Once your tracker is connected, you’re good to go! 🎉
