How Do I Connect My Samsung Health data?

Learn how to connect your Samsung Health data to Stridekick with Health Connect, manual entry, or Fitbit.

Overview

Using Samsung Health on your Android phone or Galaxy Watch? You can connect it to Stridekick in a few ways to sync your steps and join challenges.

If you have a Samsung device or watch, we recommend using Health Connect — it’s the most reliable and secure way to sync your activity data.

✅ Option 1: Use Health Connect (Recommended)

Best for: Samsung Health and Galaxy Watch users

What you’ll need:

  • Samsung Health app (pre-installed on most Samsung phones)

  • Health Connect (free from the Google Play Store or pre-installed on Android 14+)

  • Stridekick app

How to connect:

1. Install Health Connect from the Google Play Store if you don’t have it on your phone already

2. Open Samsung Health → tap Menu (☰)Settings → Health Connect.

3. The first time you access the Health Connect menu item in Samsung Health, tap Get started.

4. You are asked to grant permissions to share your Samsung Health data with Health Connect. Select the data you consent to sharing and tap Allow. (At minimum, we recommend granting permissions to share Steps and Distance if you’d like to see those in Stridekick

5. Open StridekickMenu (☰)My Device.

6. Choose Health Connect, tap Allow, and confirm all permissions.

🎉 You’re connected! Stridekick will now pull your step data from Samsung Health through Health Connect.

✅ When set up correctly:

  • You’ll see Samsung Health listed as a data writer

  • You’ll see Stridekick listed as a data reader

  • You’ll see your steps data visible inside Health Connect

If Samsung Health isn’t writing data to Health Connect, Stridekick won’t see any steps — even if Stridekick is connected properly.

💡 Tip: If you’re using a Galaxy Watch, make sure it’s paired and synced with Samsung Health — that’s how your watch data reaches Stridekick.

✍️ Option 2: Manually Enter Steps from Samsung Health

Best for: Users without Health Connect or who prefer manual updates

If manual entry is enabled for your challenge, you can add your step totals from Samsung Health directly into Stridekick — up to 7 days back.

Note: To enable manual entry for a challenge, contact your challenge admin (for Pro users) or Stridekick Support.

📲 Option 3: Use the Fitbit App (No device needed)

Best for: Android users without a Samsung device or wearable

You can also track your steps using the Fitbit app — no Fitbit device required.

Simply download Fitbit, enable phone tracking, then connect Fitbit to Stridekick.

🧠 Troubleshooting
