Stridekick can connect to Android phones through the free Google Fit app, which allows you to use your phone as your fitness tracking device. Please follow the steps below to set up Google Fit on your phone and connect the Google Fit app to Stridekick.

How to Download & Set up Google Fit

Step 1: Download Google Fit

To connect Google Fit to Stridekick, you'll first need to make sure you've downloaded the Google Fit app on your phone and created a Google Fit account there. Sometimes Google Fit comes preinstalled, but you can also download it for free from the Google Play Store:

Step 2: Set up your Google Fit Account

Before your steps will sync to Stridekick, you need to set up your Google Fit account. Select your preferred Google account from the options listed (Note: Please remember which email you selected—you'll need to recall it later in the set up process). Then, enter your information so Google Fit can estimate your calories burned, distance, and the intensity of your activities and select "Next":

From the page "Automatically track your activities," select "Turn on" (this is how Stridekick will be able to sync your steps) and then choose whether or not you'd like to allow Google Fit to use your location to map your walks, runs, bike rides, and more by selecting "Turn on" or "No thanks" (allowing Google Fit to use your location is recommended for more accurate tracking):

If you've allowed Google Fit to access your location, select "Allow" when prompted. You'll now be brought to the Google Fit Home page, where you can see the number of steps, distance, and Move Minutes you've earned for the day. If you don't have any steps showing here yet, walk around with your phone for a few steps and confirm that steps are tracking here:

Step 3: Return to Stridekick and Connect to Google Fit

Once you can see that steps are tracking in Google Fit, return to the Stridekick dashboard > select the 3 horizontal menu bars in the upper left corner > select My device > select "Android via Google Fit":

Select "Allow" to give Stridekick access to your activity data > select the same email you had used earlier when creating your Google Fit account:

Allow Stridekick to access your Google Fit data by scrolling down and selecting "Allow"> select "Okay" to confirm your successful connection to the Google Fit app:

Step 4: Confirm Steps are Syncing in Stridekick

Now, return to your Stridekick dashboard and confirm that steps between Google Fit and Stridekick are matching:

Troubleshooting

If you don't have Google Fit downloaded or set up on your phone yet and you try to connect to Google Fit in Stridekick, you'll see a message that you need to download the Google Fit app first:

Please make sure you've downloaded Google Fit from the Google Play Store and set up your Google Fit account before trying to connect again.
