How to Sync Samsung Health to Stridekick

Already connected Samsung Health? Here’s how to keep your steps and activity syncing smoothly to Stridekick.

Updated this week

🔄 How Syncing Works

If you’ve already connected Samsung Health → Health Connect → Stridekick, your steps will sync automatically.

Your data moves in this order:
Samsung Health → Health Connect → Stridekick

  • Samsung Health collects data from your phone or Galaxy Watch.

  • Health Connect securely shares that data with Stridekick.

  • Stridekick displays your steps and progress in challenges.

💡 Syncs aren’t instant — they depend on when Samsung Health last updated.

🕓 When Your Data Syncs

Samsung Health sends updates to Health Connect (and then Stridekick) when you:

  • Reconnect your Galaxy Watch to your phone

  • Open Samsung Health on your phone

  • Pull down to refresh the Samsung Health home screen

💡 After that, open Stridekick to refresh your challenge data.

📊 What to Expect from Samsung Health

Steps: Usually shared reliably if permissions are enabled.
⚠️ Distance: Often unpredictable — Samsung Health does not always send distance data through Health Connect unless you log an exercise (like a walk or run).
Active Minutes: Not supported — Health Connect does not send this data type.

Heads up: This is a Samsung Health limitation, not a Stridekick issue.

🧠 Our Recommended Setup

Because Samsung Health doesn’t always share distance data consistently, we recommend connecting Google Fit in addition to Samsung Health.

  • Use Samsung Health for steps

  • Use Google Fit for distance

  • Health Connect will merge the two automatically so Stridekick receives complete data

This setup gives you the most accurate results across both steps and distance.

🏃‍♀️ How to Log an Exercise in Samsung Health

To make sure distance data is shared:

  1. Open the Samsung Health app.

  2. Tap Exercise.

  3. Choose your activity type (e.g., Walk, Run, Bike).

  4. Tap Start to begin tracking.

🧩 Sync Checklist

If your steps aren’t showing up:

  1. Check permissions:
Open Health Connect → App permissions → make sure both Samsung Health and Stridekick have all permissions ON.

  2. Refresh Samsung Health:
Open the app and swipe down on the home screen.

  3. Refresh Stridekick:
Open Stridekick to trigger a sync.

  4. Check your internet connection.

🧠 Pro Tip: Force a Fresh Sync

If you notice a delay:

  1. Refresh Samsung Health.

  2. Wait 1–2 minutes.

  3. Open Stridekick again.

Your latest steps should appear after this refresh.
