Once you’ve connected Google Health Connect to Stridekick, here’s how to keep your steps flowing in smoothly.
📱 How Syncing Works
Stridekick pulls your activity data directly from the Health Connect app.
To sync:
Open the Stridekick app
Wait for the “🔄 Last synced:” message to appear at the top right hand corner of your dashboard
That’s it! Opening the app triggers a sync.
⏰ Pro tip: Open Stridekick at least once per day during your challenge to stay on track.
⏳ Don’t Forget the Grace Period
Every Stridekick challenge comes with a 72-hour grace period after it ends. This gives you a few extra days to sync your final steps, so make sure to open the app and get your data in before time runs out!
📊 Where Does Stridekick Get My Step Data?
Stridekick doesn't read your step data directly from your phone or tracker app. Instead, it pulls data from Health Connect, Google’s data hub.
Here's how it works:
Your fitness app (like Samsung Health, Fitbit, etc.) sends data to Health Connect
Health Connect stores your data locally on your phone
Stridekick reads that data once you give it permission
Why don’t I see Active Minutes in Stridekick?
⚠️ Important: If you’re syncing through Health Connect (like with a Pixel or Android phone only), Active Minutes aren’t supported. Health Connect doesn’t pass along the heart rate data needed to calculate them.
Active Minutes are only available if you're using a wearable device with a heart rate sensor, like a Fitbit, Garmin, or Samsung Watch. That’s because Active Minutes are based on your elevated heart rate during activity, not just steps or movement.
Want to manually track Active Minutes instead? Reach out to our team and we can enable manual entry for you.
