If your iPhoneâs Health app isnât syncing to Stridekick and youâve already learned how to sync the Health app to Stridekick, here are the steps to troubleshoot:
â Step 1: Check Your Data in the Health App
Open the Apple Health app and confirm that your steps and distance data are showing correctly.
âNote: Apple Health does not record or send active minutes. Learn more about active minutes here.
đ Step 2: Confirm Stridekick Has Permission
Make sure Stridekick is allowed to read your Health data:
Open your iPhoneâs Settings
Tap Privacy & Security > Health > Stridekick
Ensure all options are toggled on or green
đ Step 3: Confirm Motion & Fitness is Enabled
If your Health app isnât recording any steps, check that your iPhone is allowed to collect movement data:
Open Settings
Tap Privacy & Security > Motion & Fitness
Make sure Fitness Tracking and Health are toggled on
âšď¸ Step 4: Check your Apple Health data source priority
If you use multiple sources with Apple Health (e.g. iPhone, Apple Watch, Fitbit), the wrong one might be feeding steps into Stridekick. To fix this:
Open the Health app on your iPhone
Tap your step count under âTodayâ
Scroll down and tap Data Sources & Access
Tap Edit (top right)
Use the three lines (âĄ) to drag your preferred device (for example, Apple Watch) to the top.
Tap Done to save
Repeat this process for Distance and Exercise Minutes if needed. This makes sure Stridekick pulls your data from the right place.
đ Step 5: Troubleshoot Third-Party Device Syncing
If you're using a device or app like Polar, Pebble, or Xiaomi to send data to Apple Health but donât see steps, youâll need to troubleshoot the connection between that device and Apple Health directly.
â° Step 6: Check Your Time Zone in Stridekick
Incorrect time zones can affect syncing. To confirm:
From the Stridekick dashboard, tap the â° menu in the upper left corner
Tap Settings
Scroll to Time Zone and tap to adjust if needed
Why donât I see Active Minutes in Stridekick?
Active Minutes are only available if you're using a wearable device with a heart rate sensor, like a Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin, or Samsung Watch. Thatâs because Active Minutes are based on your elevated heart rate during activityânot just steps or movement.
â ď¸Â Important: If youâre syncing through your iPhone, Active Minutes arenât supported as an iPhone doesnât pass along the heart rate data needed to calculate them.
Want to manually track Active Minutes instead? Reach out to our team and we can enable manual entry for you.
